What Work Uniforms Actually Cost, and Why Nobody Tells You

Call around for work uniforms in Atlanta and you will notice something. Almost nobody publishes a price. You fill in a form, wait for a callback, and get a number that is hard to compare against anyone else’s number.

There is a reason for that, and it is worth understanding before you buy.

Most uniform sellers are not making the garments

The majority of shops you will find are decorators. They buy blank polos, tees, and workwear from a catalog, then print or embroider your logo on them. That is a real service and they do it well, but it means their price has two parts stacked together: what they paid for the blank, and what they charge to brand it.

Because both parts move, the final number depends on which catalog brand they pick, how they price the decoration, and what fees they attach. That is difficult to quote on a web page, so most of them do not.

The fees that show up after the quote

When you compare offers, the garment price is rarely the whole cost. Watch for these:

• Digitization fee. A one-time charge to convert your logo into an embroidery file. This is commonly $40 or more.
• Per-logo embroidery charge. Applied to each placement on each garment, on top of the garment price.
• Setup fees. Often charged per color or per screen for printing.
• Embroidery minimums. Some shops will print a single shirt but only run embroidery on bulk orders.

None of this is dishonest. It just makes a $4 shirt turn into a $17 shirt by the time your logo is on it, and it makes two quotes almost impossible to compare side by side.

What ownership costs when the factory quotes you directly

We publish our prices because we make the garments ourselves. There is no blank to mark up and no third party in the middle. Here is the starting tier, per piece:

• T-shirt: $3.25
• Polo shirt: $4.25
• Hoodie or sweatshirt: $6.50
• Cap or hat: $2.00
• Dress shirt: $45
• Trousers: $55
• Jacket and suit: $185

Knitwear and accessories are priced per piece at 20 pieces. Dress shirts, trousers, jackets, and suits are priced per piece at 10 pieces. Shipping is not included. Standard printing, machine embroidery, and monogram are already in those numbers.

What the three tiers actually mean

Every tier is fully made and decorated by us. What changes is the cloth.

Economy gives you a solid, quality fabric with the core options selected for you. Standard opens up a wider, higher-grade fabric selection. Premium is our top-tier fabric range. A Standard polo at $6.00 is not a different service from an Economy polo at $4.25, it is a better fabric.

How to compare quotes fairly

When you collect quotes, ask every supplier the same four questions:

1. Does this price include my logo, or is branding charged separately?
2. Is there a digitization or setup fee?
3. What is the real minimum for embroidery, not just for printing?
4. What is the lead time from artwork approval to delivery, including shipping?
